The Practice Manager (PM) of XX Place and Bromley-by-Bow Health Centre (BBBHC) said most
people identified similar issues, which showed they were on the same line, such as:
• Easy Read resources
• BSL training and Video Relay System (SignLive)
• Reasonable adjustment flag
• Having an Assistance Dog Policy
• Installing TV screens in the waiting area to alert people, especially hard of hearing and
deaf people, when the doctor or nurse is ready to see them

The Barkantine Practice – Case Study

The Disability Competency Training Programme consisted of two modules: Module 1 —
Reasonable Adjustments and Supporting Disabled People, and Module 2 — Accessible
Communication and Reasonable Adjustment. The Barkantine Practice attended these two
modules, in person and online. They also took part in two access audits, completed our
Practice Manager Questionnaire, and scheduled with us a video call to discuss their
recommendation reports.

We changed things up a bit this year and at 15:00 we were thrilled that Zainab Arian and Phillip Bennet Richards could join us to announce the THT ‘Integrated Care’ Award Winners and those recognised as Highly Commended - certificates were handed out across 6 categories. Fantastic that most attended to receive their certificates in person!
