Tower Hamlets win '2' awards Paediatric Care Initiative of the Year and HSJ Value Pilot of the Year at the HSJ Value Awards 2021

The HSJ Value Awards evening celebrated projects showcasing the highest levels of collaboration and outstanding improvements in care quality and efficiency made by NHS staff. The winners and those highly commended were announced across 20 categories during the HSJ Value Awards ceremony held at Manchester Central on the 2nd of September 2021.

Born Well, Growing Well Asthma and Wheeze Project (Tower Hamlets)

Overseen by the Tower Hamlets Together partnership, this project has successfully sought to reduce the number of children and young people admitted to the Royal London Hospital with asthma and breathing problems. The initiative involves NEL CCG and borough’s ICP, Tower Hamlets Council, Barts Health NHS Trust, East London NHS Foundation Trust, Tower Hamlets GP Care Group, and the community voluntary sector.

Darzi Seeds of Change Project for the people by the people (Tower Hamlets)

This project sought to redistribute power by enabling local people to identify local needs and co-produce quality improvements plans at the Barkantine practice in the Isle of Dogs. NEL CCG and the borough’s ICP worked collaboratively with the practice, Tower Hamlets Council, East London NHS Foundation Trust Recovery College, Well Communities, University of East London, NHS England Always Events, Tower Hamlets CVS, Mind, Tower Hamlets Healthwatch, and Darzi Fellowship Programme, London South Bank University.
