#THT Community Fair
The borough’s vision of a seamless health and care experience for its citizens.
A brilliant afternoon with lots to share and be proud about in Tower Hamlets.
Tower Hamlets Together Summer Fair 30th May 2019
Location Mile End Hospital Garden Area 13:00-16:00
The idea behind the THT Summer Fair hosted by GPCG/CEPN was to invite all staff working under the THT partnership to a ‘market stall’ event. The primary care and community fair would provide a vast range of stalls showcasing an array of services within the borough. Attendees were invited to ask local services as many questions as they wished and were encouraged to listen to patients stories around services, as well as what services could do for them.
Interactive activities were offered at some stalls including Quit right, P-RESET, whizz kids, Accelerate CIC and MSK Outpatients Team. There were plenty of giveaways and treats available which could be transported in custom made THT Summer Fair organic bags.
By 13:00 the garden area at Mile End Hospital was buzzing! The weather was kind and there was a delicious light lunch on offer (to go if required). The all-important music tinkled in the air, giving the event a real feel-good ambiance.
MSK Outpatients Team won the best looking stall prize - a hamper! Dianne Barham, Chief Executive Officer for Health Watch who chose the winners congratulated the service, and “the amazing tools and techniques used to engage visitors”
One stall holder reported “Fabulous idea being part of a summer fayre - perfect place to raise awareness”
Amy Gibbs Independent chair for THT said “Fantastic event today. It was great to hear from frontline practitioners why joined up care matters - for the people we support and staff alike. Fab to see so many partners from across health, care and the voluntary sector! Yummy lunch too!”
Helen Byrne Director of Integration and Strategic Development described the event as “A wonderful celebration of integration and joint working across Tower Hamlets today at the THT staff engagement summer fayre. Fantastic turnout”
Dr Phillip Bennet-Richards Clinical Lead for Workforce for GP Care Group and Chair of CEPN summed up the event as a “fantastic afternoon”
Chris Banks Chief Executive for GP Care Group thanked everyone who ran stalls and came to visit the fair stating that “It was a brilliant afternoon with lots to share and be proud about in Tower Hamlets”.
